Mico-Current VS. Traditional Neurofeedback

Many people often ask what the differences are between the specialized Micro-Current Neurofeedback that we offer and Traditional Neurofeedback,  so we decided to post a brief overview of the similarities and differences in case anyone would like to learn more!

Both Microcurrent Neurofeedback and Traditional Neurofeedback aim to improve mental health through helping the brain to shift to more positive brain wave states.

Traditional Neurofeedback

  • is Active- clients are trained to change their dominant brain wave states and are given feedback throughout the session when they reach their goals.
  • usually requires 20-40 sessions to achieve a permanent positive shift in the brain.
  • is often offered in counseling centers in conjunction with therapy.
  • usually treats specific areas of the brain, or aims to achieve a specific type of brain wave. This limits the types of conditions this therapy is effective for.

Micro-Current Neurofeedback

  • Is Passive- we send micro-doses of energy to the brain to help gently shift the nervous system to more positive brain-wave states. Client’s get to relax in a chair, listen to relaxing music, and watch nature scenes during their sessions.
  • Requires less sessions. Most clients only require 12-20 sessions.
  • is broad and non-specific. We treat the entire brain and support the entire nervous system, which is why Micro-Current is effective for so many different conditions.

We have had clients that tried traditional neurofeedback before they came to us, and they all said they felt better, faster with Micro-Current Neurofeedback. So in our humble opinion, traditional neurofeedback is good, but Micro-Current Neurofeedback is better!;)
